Pros: budget monopod, holding phones steadily, solid, providing steady holding and convenient selfie taking with remote
Cons: the remote uses batteries
Monopod has already become a trend. Nowadays, no matter where you go, you can often see people hold those things in their hand and taking selfies. As far as i am concerned, monopods does can make difference. They can make a selfie not so selfie with a longer distance. And they can break the range limitation to capture more people, more things, we don’t have to stuggle to stretch our arms to be as long as possible to get wonderful shots.
Today i got a sample selfie monopod with remote control from Banggood, com. This gadget just cost me $6.99 with free shipping, which made me kinda happy, because most monopods i found in other online shops cost more than $10. And the Banggood offers free shipping.
This selfie monopod with remote comes with 7 scalable segments with the closed extend of 20cm~97cm which is long enough for daily sefie taking. The construction of segments is same as umbrella handle. It takes some efforts to pull the segments out. But thanks to strong friction between the segments, the segments won’t easily slide down and you can feel they are quite solid.
To provide you with steady holding, there is also a plastic case with vertical stripe to increase the friction. It is easy to fix your phone in the bracket. Just pull the silver upper part upwards, put your phone in the bracket, and let go the upper part. My Sony phone lies steadily in the bracket. FYI, there is a soft rubber for you to pull the upper part, which is very convenient and user-friendly.
The bracket can rotate for 360 degrees horizontally and 180 degrees vertically. If you want it to turn horizontally, you just have to rotate the little black gear and let the screw get loose, turn the bracket to the direction you want and then turn the gear to fix the bracket steadily. For easy carrying, the bracket is detachable.
These selfie monopod with remote comes with a little remote. So when you are ready, you press the button on the remote then you can get amazing shots. You don’t have to stretch your hands out to reach the button on your mobile devices anymore, and you can do any pose you like.
The weakness of selfie monopod with remote i can come up with is that the remote can’t be charged since it uses batteries. This could be a trouble for me because i am a lazy person and i don’t want to often go buy batteries.
